The Story of the Crossroads Cross

In the summer of 1994, as Nick Constant sat on a hill the Church owned, overlooking Falls Park in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, he had a Vision to reach out to the city of Sioux Falls with the Gospel.  The Vision was of a Cross that would stand as a Testimony of what Jesus had done to Save the world.  He shared the Vision with his Pastor and he thought it sounded great, but it never went beyond the talking stage.  Nick continued to share the Vision with other Pastors and people who also thought it sounded great, but again, it never went beyond the "sounds great" stage.

Two years later Nick (who was now the Pastor of the Church) shared his Vision (he'd become quite a nag about it by then) with Randy Wratz, a newly Saved "Born Again" Christian.  Randy worked for a Sign company and had the skills needed to build the Cross and Randy said "The Cross will be built".

About the same time another man named Carl Parmely came to our Church.  Carl was a concrete man.  Together GOD, Nick, Randy and Carl formed a plan.

When the Project was under way, Randy brought in his friend John Felber, who was a welder, and the building of the Cross was underway.  Many came forward to help build & erect the Cross.  They committed every free moment they had to help.  Randy's company, "Pride Signs" donated their equipment, at no charge, to erect the Cross.

(God is good)

Today on that same hill, where Nick had the Vision, there now stands a 35 Foot high by 12 Foot wide Cross.  Each night the Cross lights up Red as a constant witness of the price that was paid and the love Jesus has for each and every one of us and to the free gift of Salvation offered to all who call on His name.  It overlooks Falls Park which is visited by over a million people annually.

We truly believe that God intentionally brought Randy (who is now a Deacon) and Carl Parmely to our Church for a specific purpose...HIS Purpose.

On Father's Day, 1997, the Cross was dedicated.

Every Father's Day has a Special meaning at Crossroads.  The Cross is a constant reminder of the Love and Faithfulness of our True Father, Who was willing to sacrifice His only Son to Save us.  Now, that's a Father..."Thank You Father".

God is Good.....

All the Time!!!
